Media Lingo provides subtitling and media translation in all languages, operating in all sectors and across all media.
Pink Cactus were approached to come up with a new look for the Media Lingo brand and website. After several rounds of concepts and colour combos the client opted for a logo that combined her favourite parts from two different designs.
The website redesign wasn’t just refreshing the look but included a new ExpressionEngine CMS and responsive HTML/CSS framework for viewing on mobile devices. Considerations were made regarding multi-lingual options. Currently there is content for Dutch and English, however, we also had to deliver a solution that would allow additional languages to be added at a later date. We also had to allow for different content on the various language versions of the website as there wouldn’t always be a direct translation of every page.

2012 was quite a year for us at Pink Cactus: we re-decorate our office, we started doing more with Expression Engine such as developing custom add-ons, we also started using Toggl for time tracking and Trello for project management – we even started looking at bring Agile development methods to what we do.
On the project front our portfolio ended up looking a bit bear for the year. We didn’t turn into hermits though, we were just extremely busy working for other agencies to produce websites for their clients. Unfortunately for us this meant that a lovely NDA stopped us from being able to show that work off in our own portfolio.
Now we’re into 2013 and thinking about how we can solidify our relationship with Other Alias, introducing responsive web design to every project we create and bring a new methodology to our work ethic – it’s exciting times so watch this space…
Edward Baden offer relocation services for businesses. They have group of global companies offering relocation, crate hire and storage solutions. Each company has a website with some offering language options.
Their original group of sites were all over the place – literally. They had individual installations of WordPress for each of the sites they owned, it was nearly impossible to manage and administrate.
We were apporached by Paper Dog to see if we could help their contact at Edward Baden to consolidate their 14 websites into one place, and make it all CMS driven, and offer lanuage options, and give seperate admin privileges to the individual editors… it sounded like it was a big BIG ask but it seemed no problem once we delved into Expression Engines Multi Site Manager add-on, we were even able to give the sites a little refresh in terms of design style.
The result was a very happy client who has: one login, one central place to go to manage all sites from one control panel, the ability to give editors access to only the site they need to update, and much more.
